We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer of safe, sustainable access solutions used across multiple sectors. With over a century of expertise and significant ongoing investment, the business continues to expand and innovate across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Steelwork Estimator to join a stable, growing, and well-supported technical team.

The Role

As a Steelwork Estimator, you will be responsible for compiling accurate and commercially viable project bids for steelwork, metalwork, GRP products and installation packages. You’ll work closely with clients, internal teams, and technical specialists to deliver competitive tenders that meet project requirements and drive continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming sales enquiries and tenders, ensuring bids are submitted on time.

  • Interpret specifications, technical drawings, and client requirements to produce detailed estimates.

  • Complete accurate take-offs and pricing for steelwork, metalwork, GRP and installation work.

  • Carry out site visits, Teams calls, or client meetings when required to clarify project scope.

  • Build strong working relationships with clients, offering technical solutions and supporting commercial negotiations.

  • Review drawings for value-add or alternative proposals to enhance the bid offering.

  • Ensure internal procedures are followed, including credit checks and order acknowledgements.

  • Provide monthly reports on live projects and follow up on outstanding quotes.

  • Support commercial teams in negotiating terms and conditions within agreed authority levels.


About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in estimating or tendering within steelwork, metalwork, fabrication, GRP or related engineering environments.

  • Strong technical background with the ability to confidently interpret drawings and specifications.
